Getting started
What does ApexPricer do?
ApexPricer tracks your competitors' prices and suggests a new price for each product. Every suggestion stays above a floor that protects your target margin. You approve each change, or let changes within your limits be applied automatically.
Who is ApexPricer for?
For Shopify stores that sell in euros in the European Union and want to align their prices with competitors without giving away margin. It works best when your products have an article number (SKU) that competitors use too, such as the manufacturer's part number.
What do I need to set up?
After installing, ApexPricer imports your products and prices from Shopify. Then you fill in three things: your cost prices (from the 'Cost per item' field in Shopify, or through a CSV import), your target margin and your competitors' websites. A checklist on the dashboard guides you step by step.
Prices and control
Does ApexPricer change prices without my approval?
No. By default nothing changes until you approve a suggestion. You can turn on auto-apply, separately for increases and decreases and with a maximum percentage per change. Any applied price can be undone with one click.
How do I avoid selling below my margin?
Every suggestion stays above a floor. We calculate it from your cost price, the VAT of the countries you sell to, your shipping costs and your target margin. You can also set a target margin, a minimum price or a maximum price per product. If ApexPricer can't undercut a competitor without dropping below that floor, it suggests the lowest price that still meets your margin.
How does ApexPricer track competitor prices?
You add your competitors' websites. ApexPricer finds your products there by article number and checks the product data on the page to confirm it's the same product. You can also paste a link to a product page yourself. Prices are checked again every night.
Does ApexPricer also suggest price increases?
Yes. When the cheapest competitor raises its price, you get a suggestion to go up too, to just below that competitor. That way you don't leave margin on the table when the market gets more expensive.
Which countries and currencies does ApexPricer support?
The 27 countries of the European Union, in euros. You choose which countries you sell to; the floor accounts for VAT and shipping costs per country. You also decide whether your target margin must hold in every country or only in your main country. Other currencies and separate prices per country aren't supported yet.
Google Ads
Do I need Google Ads?
No, connecting Google Ads is optional and part of the Growth plan. If you connect it, you see each product's margin after ad costs and get suggestions to remove out-of-stock or unprofitable products from your Performance Max campaigns. Nothing changes there without your approval either.
Data and privacy
What data does ApexPricer use?
Your products, prices, cost prices, inventory and shipping rates from Shopify, and from your orders only the line items: product, quantity, price and date. We don't store customer details such as name, address or email address. Read more in our privacy policy.
What happens when I uninstall the app?
ApexPricer immediately stops reading and changing your store, and Shopify ends your subscription. We delete your data within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
